CP4500要退役了...
目前出左許多新機, 不知怎樣選擇 ? (e.g. R1, S9500, FZ30.....)
還是舊model好 ? (e.g. C8080, A2, A200, PRO-1....)

要求:
1) 可動LCD
2) > 5X Zoom
3) < $6000

I am considering FZ30 and A200 now.....

唔係太急的等Sony R1, (maybe 再等一下降價), R1真係正好多~

i have KM A200, and will *MOSTLY* get FZ30 to be the side-kick camera for A200, it WON'T replace A200.....

1. A200 has 28mm, FZ30 has 420mm tele.... both have their great specific focal. While A200's 200mm tele is very limited nowaday.... so FZ30's 420mm (and even longer when set to 3MP or 5MP) will be a great use for bird shooting

2. for the flip LCD, i prefer A200's....its alot more flexable than FZ30's (for vertical shoot, i found using A200's flip LCD is very hand, basically FZ30's flip LCD works virtually no difference than a titl-LCD like Fuji S9500's......just its LCD can flip back when not in use... less potenial to break the LCD)

3. AS vs. OIS..... at this point, can really tell u the difference upon their picture quaility differences... but A200's AS is not so good when working under a hot condition...its AS system will shut down upon the CCD's temperature.... while OIS and other optical-based stabilzation wont' have this problem

4. Lens.... be honest with u, A200's lens got a smaller size barrel which for user has small hand will find it more comfort to rotate / zoom the lens. FZ30 abit larger (for me at least haha) and the zooming speed for FZ30 not as fast as A200...but for reliability, FZ30's internal optical zoom is something very very great design..... dust sucks-in the lens's chance are ALOT LESS than A200 and maybe even S9500 (they use the tradition extending-lens design....dust easily gets in from the lens' gap)

5. 8MP...... yeah.... both 8MP, but as u heard be4.... FZ30 suffer the noise problem....seriously. i mean, it can be a great day-time prosumer dc. but at least, or when there's chance u want to shoot under ISO 400.... it'll bring u a hard time >___<

6. movie: both are the top-of-the-line 640x480 30fps QuickTime movie mode allows for optical zoom and manual focus. @ this point, i think FZ30's unlimited time movie will be better.....for A200 only up to 15min regardless the card size.

7. buffer.... A200 win. Why? it can continuous shoot 5 RAW pics @ 2.3fps... FZ30 only support jpg shooting, meaning A200 got a much bigger buffer to handle this case

8. cards: A200 CF slot, which means it can use xD, MS pro duo, SD/MMC by using specific adapter. while FZ30 only use SD, kinda narrow @ this point.

9. battery: they should be about the same, while A200 using the Nikon battery...so more cheaper price battery u may able to get

R1的確係正，不過焦距範圍由24-120mm似乎不足夠，換言之一定要買多塊專用tele。但睇過佢D demo相，加左塊超級〔珍寶〕tele之後，部機就變左支迫擊砲咁大陣仗。

諗諗下以R1價錢，可以買部P880 (24-140mm)再加多部5MP長炮，再視乎需要決定帶是但一部出街，似乎仲化算。

again, KM may come up a A250?? or Nikon CP9000 or maybe Canon Pro2 which has 10x IS lens and USM focus??

all depence on how rush u want to get the camera lor ; )

Mechanical zoom lens + Wide angle + full control + anti-shake + virtually able to use ALL memory card (with adapter)............. KM A200

fast focus + dual slot memory card + nice 7MP + tons of accessories................. Olympus C7070

great day-time-only tele-shooter and nice internal zoom leica lens...FZ30

如果真係急不如買Olympus C8080WZ，佢成像仲清過Canon PowerShot Pro 1，又唔會點偏色，而且到目前為止佢都仲係訊噪同級最低既機。

如果是我, 我都會買Olympus C8080 ,C7070 or KM A200,
真的沒信心fz-30 的noise 會小.
當然, 買部機來威的, 就應買部DSLR or 似DSLR的,
但買來拍照的, 都是要看機的品質,內涵.

faster AF and dual slots : C7070
expect to use no-higher-than ISO 100 and need to shoot tele: FZ30

I owed a KM A200. Honestly, beside the focus speed in dark environment is slow, it is a really good camera. I have bought Canon 10D, but I still keep this camera for causel shooting. I have shot a lot of good pictures with A200.

yup.......A200 is a very nice prosumer dc....even 2 days i got the Panasonic FZ30, it still CANNOT full replace my A200

i like A200:

28mm

better handling (maybe cuz my hand not a big one)

better rotate-LCD (FZ30's virtually = a tilt-LCD....)

use CF card (which it can use SD/xD/MS pro duo as well by adapters)

TTL flash supported!


i like FZ30:

420mm and farther.... : P

very solid feel (A200 feels very plastic compare w/ fz30)

fast-SD card supported! (works great w/ continoues shooting)

saving time is ALOT faster than A200!!! (especially @ continoues

shooting mode.... right after the 1st 5 frames captured, u can instant

start capture another 5 frames.....compare with FZ30, A200 takes forever
to save the first 5 pics....... say > 4 sec )

Internal optical zoom!! (lens won't extend out of the body, thus less chance to damge the lens or dust sucks inside of it)

battery life ok, and it can use the cheaper FZ10/FZ20's battery as well

They're both good prosumer, but has their own pro & con, i'll soon learn to operate the FZ30 as freely as A200 : P
