AF speed : D50 > DL
Flash syn speed : D50 > DL
View finder : DL > D50
Battery : DL (AA batttery x4) > D50
Kit lens : both 18-55 - same level
Brand vs Brand
Flash system : Nikon SB800 > Pentax 360 flash can't turn left and right !!
Body update : D200 / D2X > unknow : Pentax 10 mp new DSLR is still ???
Lens update : 17-55, LB3/5 > pentax lens hard to find
Anti shake : Nikon has VR lens > pentax ??? - no anti-shake lens / body

One more point : if you don't want to spend too much money on DSLR system, Buy DL - no much choice to buy over $10,000 lens, and waiting till dying for new DSLR body.....

The original brand name lens are really the best with no doubt, but you have to pay more budget. Therefore, you can consider the other brand name as like as Temron or Tokina. The standard len 17-55/ f 2.8 cost about $ 3,000, and 70-300/ 3.5-5.6 cost about $ 1,300, the marco len cost about $ 2,500. The image quality is really not bad. You may consult some experienced people in collecting their opinion before you make the purchase.
