Hi all,

I have heard a lot about this problem here. Got the 350d last week and played with it a bit.... amazingly stupid and seems to be random AF point selections. It is so odd and strange that I am suspecting it is out of order.

Even for head shots at the real dead center, the selected point can be at the side.... Out of 10 photo using auto self select af point, maybe 7 got wrong and many of the selection of points are WILD....

Is this a common problem? Is it really a problem? I am not used to canon or AF camera in general.

I see no reason to use the auto-select focus point on that camera.
Move the red dot against the object you want to focus.

There is no secret that auto selective AF is less than reliable. Use manual select or spot AF instead.

not only dslr, even small dc, I never use auto-select focus point, this stupid function will only make you crazy. lol

I will only use this function for off view finder shooting.
