主要股東透露要求PENTAX停止數位相機生產

剛於2005年12月收購了pentax21%股權的SPARX基金，其主席CEO Shuhei Abe 最近在報章訪問中透露，他們認為數位相機的市場變化太大，獲利能力低，正不斷施壓要求pentax管理層停止生產數位相機。pentax其餘已知股東包括 The Master Trust Bank of Japan, Ltd. 7.81 %及Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. 4.97 %



Abe: Let me discuss Pentax, of which we hold 21 percent. Pentax is an optical technology company that is known for making single-reflex lenses. Japanese camera makers have their roots in lens making and optical technology. Leveraging its technological strength, Pentax has diversified into endoscopy, an area that Japanese companies monopolize. The neat thing about the endoscope business is that once you become a supplier, you have a lock on demand for parts replacement the same way copy machine makers benefit from continuing demand for, say, toner. The mistake that Pentax and other camera manufacturers made was in digital cameras, which as a business are not like cameras but more like home electronics, with short product cycles. It's not an efficient business for camera manufacturers to be in. We have been in talks with the Pentax management and have been suggesting that they exit from digital camera manufacturing.

KM玩完正正就係因為呢個原因,奈何傳統菲林相機市場亦都係因為數碼相機而不斷收縮至無利可圖既地步,搞到一眾中小型生產商摺埋,正一係做又死唔做又死。

Pentax........god bless u. 睇黎samsung都會對佢虎視眈眈,正如上面話齋呢門係一門電器生意。

PENTAX 現在同緊 SAMSUNG 做 OEM 既 DSLR, 如果又比 SAMSUNG 合併收購食埋, 改名 SAMSUNG PENTAX, 簡稱 "SP", 真可謂風水輪流轉, 韓國侵佔日本勒. 佢係第一部單鏡機 SPOTMATIC 製造廠, 出部 SP 牌 SPOTMATIC DIGITAL 就應晒景勒 !

下一間廠輪到既係 ... ... ... OM ???

3 years develop 7 DSLR with same 6mp CCD and same AF system :

D, DS, DS2, DL, DL2, K100, K110

This is a world record !

If including Samsung GX-1, there are 8.

This record is ended with new 10 mp DSLR, but it is not under the name of Pentax, it is Samsung GX-2

I don't understand what Pentax is thinking : waste energy on launching 6 same CCD, same AF system and same body DSLR. However having the new 10mp DSLR but let Samsung launches first. Now electronic product is very perishable, each day delay is losing money indeed.

Pentax transferred DSLR knowledge to Samsung, but Samsung takes faster pace and work more efficiently than Pentax ! Then better let Samsung acquire Pentax.

For a public listed company, management should convince shareholder they are working right, but Pentax is not convincing, instead they look very clumsy. If I were shareholder of Pentax, I would do the same thing as " SPARX funds ", or sell out all share of Pentax.

how do u know samsung DSLR will be out quicker than pentax?

and i do think samsung version and penatx will not share the same region..

eg)in korea u can only finld samsung version
and in japan u can only find pentax version..

as i saw the pic, the pentax version is way too more handsome looking than samsung version
