hi, i recently bought a pentax 300GS, compare to my old Konica 300z, the pentax has a new function which shoots out a red beam when focusing in dark, what is this function called? and is this function very common?? cos i'm goin' back to HK in 3 weeks and i wanna buy a new DC in HK, thz!

This is called "AF Illuminator" or "Low Light Focus Assistant Lamp". It is a quite good function and one additional function in high graded model of DC in the past. But it is quite common now! ^_^
