It is the best DC by far. Buy for $6990, it lose its competiveness considering a beginner DSLR body plus a good lens is less than $7k. $5780 plus 1G CF seems to be fair.

Sony R-1 係專業PROSUMER, 但現在入門DSLR 都平佢, 所以生存空間少了好多

I've asked Sony Proshop in Mongkok if the R1 is discontinued and the answer was 'No'. However the salesman didn't say anything to prove that.

In my opinion, Sony has developed this sensor (10MP CMOS) specially for R1 if it is no longer used then the R&D cost will not be able to cover. Hence if R1 is really discontiuned then probably R2 is coming!

R1 而家唔係無貨, 係全部賣緊 DEMO 機, 今日落灣仔見到間間舖都有一部 R1 賣, 架上亦只有一個盒, 即係要買就係果部.
