Its pic quality is quite ok. Also the 640X480 movie is outstanding.No difference to good DV video camera. However its problem is that the user would get bored with it quite easily as it s a quite auto point & shoot camera.

V3是否真的比其他細機好就不太肯定，因我只用過V3可同菲林單鏡機。但以我的個人數碼經驗(不愉快)，最好都買架CCD較大的DC(如1/1.8"或2/3")。CCD太細，Noise會很勁，而且鏡頭的缺點如色散，球面像差等等都會一同放大。
不過如果要求不高，只當傻瓜機用，照片都OK的，只是色散較嚴重。

DCDennis made an excellent point. It s limited by the size of its CCD.
Personally, I won't buy a Sony DC and I like my V3. However you must admit that even P5/P7(comparable products to V3) make better pics than V3.

but actually why don't u buy P5/P7 instead of V3? the price is the same and seems that function is more.

and I would like to ask that what is meaning of CCD size 1/1.8, 1/2.7, 2/3?
how is it calculated?

Those CCD sizes are in inches. And they are vertical dimension (correct me if I am wrong ). So 2/3 > 1/2.7. In general,
bigger sensor ==> 1. smaller focal length multiplier
2. less diffraction
3. less fuzzy picture when stop down aperture
4. better Signal/Noise Ratio ( of course it depends of CCD type)
thus ==> preferred pictures
I don't buy sony because there are too many people after that brand name. It s my personal prehudice.

Hi Fai26. You are right. I am bias and don't like Sony DC ! Especially for P series ! IF you say F series, I can say that it is good ! I know that Sony's CCD is really good ! But for the lens........... You know ! If their lens is good, then why they use other brands lens in F series ? And the most important thing is they are too expensive ! IF you use money to buy "Hong" P9, I am sure people will say you better buy Canon G2 la !

係呀, sony出品都有一定品質保証, 例如dv我會選買sony, 因為sony可以配一舊3hr的電池 (一般跟機電池只可以1hr)

不過, 相似規格的dc產品, sony都會買得比人貴, 功能又比人少一些, 若果我係識擇和識用dc的, 點解唔省一點錢買其他補品給部相機呢?
