I see a lot of C Hing who are using Micro lens with beautiful insects and beautiful. I am a new user of the micro len. I am using 105mm micro len. However, I can't shoot a clear picture. At first, I try using F8-F9 aperture. However, the objects are still not sharp and big enough. So, I try F11-F13. O I use also built in flash to shoot as well. Object is a bit sharp however, I still can't master a good picture. Is there C Hing who can advise me???? Thanks a lot.

問題通常都係對焦唔準.
用腳架固然最穏陣,但機動性低比較難捕捉會移動的昆蟲,大放大率時由於景深淺很容易失焦,請放棄用自動對焦改為手動.而且姿態必需穏定,好似用DC仔咁吊晒手影幾乎一定衰,手肘最好貼實身體爭取最大穏定性.
另外光圈F13未必足夠,F16-22較常用.

Philippe. Thanks a lot. I have already using manual focus and still difficult to master the focus when moving a bit or not holding the camera steadily. I will try to use a small aperture to see the results again. However, such small aperture will need more light. That is, either longer exposure and higher ISO. However, such changes will lead to either blur results or high noise.... Again, the results may not be good. Do I need to have the external flash rather than the built in flash? Will it help??? Thank you....

Philippe. Thanks for your link for sharing the macro shooting. I have read through the text (although it's really long). I learnt a lot from it. I try to summaries in the followings:

1. Use manual exposure with F16 aperture and 1/125 shutter speed
2. Using manual focus
3. Use external flash like SB-800
4. Adjust more light or less light by adjusting the flash exposure.
5. practice more on the focus as this is a very hard part since the objects may always moving....

Hope it will help to other new macro len user as well....

閃燈sb800對macro幫助唔大, 因為收到f11以下時, 陰天的話都冇晒現場光咁滯, 得返d閃燈光, 色水會好怪, 先加iso, 再唔得先閃, 最好用腳架

bikram, 我用sigma 180 macro, 影1:2, 1:1時盡量就到隻虫打橫, 咁就唔駛太理景深問題, 收光圈到f5.6-f8左右都ok, 打直影就點收光圈都唔夠景深, 仲有一個方法, 離遠影再corp, 不過咁就浪費左支macro, 用tele都得啦

所以我一直強調持機姿勢要穏定,呢一步做唔到就點設定都冇用.
其實不用太拘泥於要用最低iso既,我通常都用iso 400,對於DSLR來講呢個係幾OK既iso.
怕背景黑有幾種方法
搵個 貼住主體的背景

從高角度取景,較容易會搵到冇咁遠的背景,咁閃燈光會幫到小小,所以iso唔可以太低.

仲有選擇較低的放大率.咁對焦會容易左,光圈亦都唔駛太細.其實情況係相對的,放大率細背景佔的部份多,放大率大時可以唔要咁多背景,盡量用主體塞晒個畫面.
