Today, I just bought a D200. In the beginning, my combination is: D200+Tamron A16+Sigma 70-200, 2.8 EX Macro. However, A16 is not availiable until Jan 07. Now I bought the following:

D200
Nikon 28mm, 2.8
Nikon 50mm, 1.8
Sigma 70-200, 2.8

I want to have a wide angle mid range for travel (can't wait on A16), what would you suggest if you were me. Do you recommend:

1) Nikon AF-S 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G DX IF-ED ($1,960)
2) Nikon AF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G DX IF-ED ($2,580)
3) Nikon AF 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D IF-ED ($3,280)
4) Sigma AF 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC ($3,480)

budget allow, sure 17-55 2.8.. Shing shing just has new stock.

If budget limit, 18-135.

I am thinking to take my Sigma 70-200 for travelling (I know you will say very heavy), so need one in between 18-70....

I have 18-70, generally people say 18-70 is better than 18-135, but I see the photo of 18-135 is not inferior to 18-70, few hundred more can buy extra range of 70-135. So if I were you, I will buy 18-135.

Also, new stock of Tamron 17-50 N mount will arrive HK soon, last week Can on mount just arrive, you can try to see if you have gook luck, but no need to try Shing Shing, their order list is over 30 and won't sell without paying deposit in advance.

yes, Shing Shing told me the waiting list of N is so huge.....they told me 100% that no stock until early Jan 07.....Canon mount mighe be better.....

U asked me not to try Shing Shing, try where? Any suggestions?

Both shop awaiting A16 N mount new stock to arrive, and order list is shorter.

As KM and Can on mount already arrived, they think N mount may arrive around 20th Dec.

有無考慮入 Tokina 12-24 / Sigma 10-20
超廣角 + 50 1.8 + 70-200 就好全面

18-135 會非常方便.. 買佢o既話會建議帶 18-135 + 28 2.8 而唔帶 70-200. 除非係生態之旅 (係o既話 200 都會嫌太短)

Wow,,,,,so heavy woh......I just carry my D200 + Sigma 70-200 for 5 mins.....my left hand was shaking already.....

Then do more exercise, yesterday morning I held 4 kg for two hours at Asia game show :

D200 + MB200 : 1.2 kg
SB800 + SC29 + L rack : l kg
Sigma 50-500 : 1.8 kg

At the afternoon, I held them for another 1.5 hour at Kowloon park playground with my son..

Also at my back pack has 18-70, 70-200 VR, spare battery, lens bag...etc.
