First ask yourselves what is your need and check with the site on line.

I have a IXUS 750 with ccd size 1/1.8" and the photo are good for daylight or sufficient lighting condition, high ISO performance is average to poor (iso 400). I brought a Fuji F31 recently due to its high iso performance, usable photos for iso 800.

You may refer to the following site to compare photo quality side by side,

the site is in German but you can still select these two models to compare or select other to compare with, you may not be able to compare F31 use F30 as they are similar F31 is just an update version.

Personnaly I will recommend F31 if you need to have photos in low night conditions. I have no exp. with Nikon but it seems from forum that Nikon DC is not so good in picture quality.

Do some research before you buy otherwise will be regretted.

Sorry, forget to tell you the F31 do not have 28mm wide just around 36mm.
