I switch to DSLR camera this year and find that there are lots of long range focal length lenses in the market (eg. 18-200, 28-300mm) which never seen in film camera market before. How is the image quality of these lenses?
The one I am using now is only 17-55mm.

Don't expect too much from a long range zoom lens especially at the tele end. They only provide users with convenience when taking them around.
