When shooting at 200mm using VR indoor, what shutter speed and aperture and ISO is suitable? Can I use the following settings:

Manual exposure : 1/200 second, F4, ISO 800 with external flash at TTL FP BL.....

Any comment and advice... Thanks

Since it is a VR lens, you may use slower shutter speed to get more ambient light so that the background looks more natural. It depends on how bright the shopping center is.

Any reason why you use FP mode which has weaker output and high shutter speed syn.

Do not use full auto mode.

buddy, there is no best way for you here.
because we, even yourself, don't know what excatly you want to shot

you got VR and flash. so you don't need to worry too much about the light on the person. the flash and VR will do the job.

Increasing the shutter by higher the ISO isn't the solution.
Although ISO 800 gives better background, it isn't for shooting photo with flash.
Just directly set to faster shutter(for a sharper image), then the flash output will increase.
The light should be as natural as possible,
* try to get a balance between them. *
Beside, the shutter isnt the key, but the DOF and the metering are.

TTL BL center-6mm-metering, f/5.6~f/8, 1/250~1/500s, ISO under 400.

for nikon, I suggest crack the flash to get 1/1000s sync shutter for function
then every lens is vr lens.

你可以先試下自己要幾快快門先唔會手震,然後用快門先決或者全動set死快門.
要留意下有冇開防震,1/60s在200mm其實應該OK的.有D人甚到自誇可以去到1/15s.
最好唔好快到要用高速閃燈,一來未必夠力,二來閃燈負荷好大,影響回電速度.
iso 800我都會用,一來iso 400要去到1/60s好多時會未必去到,下下開盡光圈都唔係咁好.除非你唔介意背景under.

1/1000秒環境又夠光,咁果度應該唔係室內.
睇唔到乜理由要用1/000秒,背景黑晒閃燈又重負荷.
張狗仔相用24mm都影到咁大,相機應該非常接近,伸手可及的距離,高速閃燈先會夠力.遠小小都會唔夠力.
