how come no one answer your question...maybe too many posts regarding to this topic before...you may do some searching

I am using 400D. Very good! but you should consider your budget.. if you buy D400, you may need to spend much money to buy IS lenses.. why not K100D!? anyway, i think 400D, D80, and K100D should be your choices

i have your problem b4, when i start to buy a life use cam, when A100 is come out, when i start to buy it D80 is come, and when i want to buy D80, 400D is come...... however my final choice is 400D cuz

all i think is, all i need for a cam is quility of picture, inside i mean the quility itself, and it somehow = noise control, about this, A100 is out.... and also is lens future too dark..... out of stock or expensive...
D80 is a good cam no matter, as special is realy better control then 400D as i try..... but noise is 400D still better

other concern is heavy, 400D is less 75g then D80...... i put it on my beg everyday and it is a concern.....

so i finaly choose 400D

however, I have NO own ANY L lens since i realy think it already enough quility of a 1.6x cam ( i am using Canon 85 1.4 / Sigma 30 1.4 / Tamron A16 / Sigma 70-300 APO )
