想問各位D40用家有否覺得相片顏色偏藍,特別係用AUTO WB嘅時候。唔明点解NIKON將部機tune到咁藍。

I do not have D40, but I prefer inclining blue rather than red.

blue tone at Nikon NC push saturation will be very good.

Red tone need to adjust at color balance.

If you want to correct it at D40, fine tune white balance +1, or color hue +3

Too much blue makes the pictures unrealistic. Looks like D40 does not allow white balance fine tune. I used D50 before and the colours were much warmer and closer to real.

i have the d50 before i try to have some photo and check with the real item

but the final result is the color is too warm than the real

you can see the picture is good feeling but not more than 90% like the original color

Thanks for the hint. It is much better after adjusting auto-white balance to -1. Where can I set color hue to +3? I want to try that also.

Auto white balance 0 makes the photos real bluish. Something must be wrong with the auto white balance of D40.

If need more red tone, should be color hue -3,

I don't know D40, but should be set at manual - customize image - color hue.

This is quite odd that your D40 inclines to blue tone. Are you sure that your computer mon has no problem ?

Because D70s, D50, D200 incline to red tone at the human skin color, I'm use to set +6 color hue for more natural skin color first, then add saturation by Nikon capture if the skin color is too palm.

I'm also surprised the D-40 tends to have a blue tone when auto WB is set. I used D-50 before and agree the colors are much warmer. Yes, the blue tone of D40 is obvious both on my computer monitor and on the camera LCD. I'm sure my computer mon has no color deviation.

I am able to do hue adjustments inside the "Optimize Image" menu. Thank you. By the way, my current color mode is set at IIIa (sRGB), is this the correct setting?

Depend on your favour, color mode III is more rich color than mode 1, as long as you do not feel mode III color is over rich, go on to use mode III

I will test again to see what happens. If anybody has the problem of blue tone with auto white balance setting, pls post your opinion.
