Wing Sing sell f40d at $2180 with 1G SD card, and gifts value around $100.
If you add $80, they can upgrade SD card to 2G Digifilm. There is no point to buy the old model f31d, which has lower grade CCD, and still use XD card exclusively.

Just brought the f40 today....it is made in Japan (the sales told me that the next slot of f40 will be made in China (don't know whether it is true)!

Personally I like f40 more than f31 as I will not use manual shutter and aperture setting in such a small camera. Also the LCD of f40 is better than f31 (even though the resolution is the same, the coating is different).

I used F30 for almost a year, I use 'A/S' mode for least than 100 shoots.

Made in Japan/China ? As long as it works and has warranty, who care!

If I had to pick up a Fuji now, I will go for F40, or perhaps wait for the next generation of F30/31fd (say F51fd).

It is okay, F30's 'purple fringing' is not that bad.

At least I have taken more than 10k shoots from F30 sice I bought it last year.
