500mm is hard to hand hold without shaking, so tripod / monpod is a must.

For moving object, needs at least 1/200 sec.

F6.3 is not enough, so use ISO800 or higher is inevitable.

Depend on whether you can accept noise from high ISO. If not, then your choice is 328 / 428

我用過20mm f3.5+iso400, f8+iso800手持都ok, 未試過用500mm影, 照計要加iso800先得

I have used a 400 mm 5.6 lens in A mode without IS (ISO 400) in a concert with monopod (the speed is usually 1/60 to 1/500), the result --------- only at most 10% photos were clear.

SO, I think, IMAGE STABILIZATION is a MUST!

If u don't photo flying birds, racing car, SIGMA 80-400 OS is a good choice, but the focusing is very very slow

我覺得關快門事, 因為concert d人唔係企定俾你影, 有is但係慢快門都一樣唔會clear, is只係對固定主體有幫助

坐前排用200mm或以下開防震iso100-400影出來成功率會幾高下

1/200 ok good for photo fast moving dancers in the concert, but not ok for taking a sharp photo with a non IS 400 mm lens.

If u use a 400 or 600 mm lens without IS, even if u use a rigid tripod, the photo will not be sharp because the vibration of the mirror makes the camera moves. When I photo birds using a 600 mm non IS lens, I will use 2 tripods and a sand bag on top of the lens to prevent vibration if taking photos with 1/500 or lower speed.
