i sold the 400D at late August and brought the new EOS 40D kit set on 2007-09-07.
I found there are many points better that 400D. For example, 1) the AWB is better, 2) kit lens with IS & USM, 3 ) 3" LCD, 4) live CMOS, 5) metal body, 6) better hand feeling, 7) much faster shutter speed, etc......
I buy it at $11740 with 2G ultra II and extra battery. I don't know whether i buy it at a reasonable price or not (may be the price is much higher) but the feel is much better that 400D.
