我想買倍新機連鏡, 因想要FF,所以想買Canon 5D.

己有 Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM,
和 Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 II

想再加添鏡頭,大家覺得 小白IS Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM 好唔好.
或者大白真的好D?

They are of course good lar.

For myself, 70-200mm f2.8 is too large for me although it should be better than f4.

People said 7D and 5D mark II are coming soon.

You may wait for a while as the new model replacing 5D is coming whether it is 7D or 5D mark II, just wait and I think the price may be good, as D3 and D300 is coming as well.

I will go for 70-200mm f4L IS USM. This is much lighter for travelling, unless you really need f2.8 for portraits. But then I will go for fixed lens, eg. 50mm f1.4 ($2,400) or 50mm f1.8 ($600). The quality of the f4L will not disappoint you!

I borrowed my friend's 70-200 f2.8L IS in the summer to shoot pictures when Liverpool came to Hong Kong in July, I held it for 30 minutes and I was very tired afterwards, not to mention suffering from neck pain for 3 days!

I have seen the comparison between 70-300 DO IS USM and 70-200 f4L IS USM, to be honest, unless you need the extra zoom, I will still go for 70-200 f4 because the latter's color saturation is much better. You can always buy a 1.4x to make the extra zoom.

I will definitely wait for the new model.

My budget is around 30-40K, but if really need, $50K is my max (and then MacDonald for months, haha). Because the budget is not high, that’s why I want to get the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM first. So I still can use the 28-135mm for a while. But the weight is a big big issue for me, and I think it will be mainly using for outdoor shooting so F/4.0L is more suitable.

The next lens I want to get is either the 16-35 or 24-70. But most likely is the Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM. This lens will be the most often used lens for me, so I rather put it the 2nd. I did think about Canon EF 24-105mm f4.0L IS USM because it is lighter and wider range. But for indoor, 2.8 is better and seems it has advantage in dust prevention, what do you think?
IS or 2.8, hard to make decision.

24-105 also has the dust seal, if you consider 24-70 2.8 there is another choice you can make is Tamron 28-75 f 2.8, it is relatively cheap $2850 but the quality is quite good, but without USM, and it is very light just ~ 450g, half of 24-70.

You better go to Canon showroom with a CF card and try all the lenses and bodies that you are interested and take the CF back home with a detail look on those photos. Feel the weight and how comfortable it is, you can request them to take out any lenses inside the cabinet for you to try NOT just those on the table !!!

The service in the showroom is very good, anyway you paid for it (when you buy their product). I like to go to try new stuff and things want to buy as no one will sell you anything.
