I have been using 300D for almost 3 years.
now considering replace it with 400D.

anyone had 300D before and now using 400D ?
can tell me the actual different in term of photo quality?

i want to replace it because 400D more small and light weight
but if i just replace it for that.....it may not worth.....

IMO, "if" you're OK with 300D (now), wait for some time to have more choices every year or 2 years. Don't be hurry!

I'm also using 300D now (since 2004). I've other reason(s) to replace:
(1) it was broken (but eventually, I managed to repair it)
(2) faster fps (to shoot children)
(3) better image quality

So, (2) is the main factor for me and I also wonder (3) like you!

However, 400D is really too "small" to grip. Do you try out one?

近期各牌有新機，相信遲多ｄｄ會有些影友換機，如不介意二手，會有多些選擇。　　

我建議 30D 可考慮，1,000 同 800 萬 pixels 『可能』分別不大，不過都請其他影友比『實際』經驗。　　

最好有相睇。

I have 300D and 400D, in terms of image quality there is not a big differences

but for 400D
high iso noise reduced
control over drive mode ie. one shot, AI servo, AI focus
can adjust the built-in flash with flash exposure compensation +/- 2EV
better focusing
bigger 2.5" LCD display
larger shoting buffer

Whether to upgrade or not up to individual's choices, but I would say upgrade to 40D is worthwhile as it has much more function and 14 bit A/D converter.

本人的 300D 於 2005 年 12 月，因 晚上 要影 WTO HKMC6 的激烈場面，所以將 Firmware 轉成 cracked 了的『 最新版 』（ AF Mode 在十字鍵的『 右 』掣，不是左掣 ），之後發覺架機真係方便同好用左好多。　　

再幫了幾位影友 crack 埋都一樣覺得好好，你有冇錦做呢？

Yes, I have also cracked the firmware, the 300D is changed to 310D (300D body with 10D function), anyway it is no harm as it is reversable.

But you can only change drive mode and FEC but not others, of course you can use iso 3200 on 300D.

Well, I think Digi II is faster than Digi I the response of 400D is instant, while you need to wait 300D all the time.

check for this site by read it carefully and suggest you go to Canon website download the 300D firmware first so that you can reverse to original if it is not ok for you.
