大家好，　本人是大學生一名，對相機認識不深，　希望諸位可以給少少意見！將感激不盡。
我正在考慮 NikonD40X和 Cannon EOS 400D，價錢不是大問題，但那種的電池比較耐用？我主要用來旅行的。因為我在歐洲讀書。除塵是否很重要呢？SD card 跟 CF(compact flash)有什麼大分別？顏色那種比較鮮艷？畫面那種比較大或者適合？還有什麼要點要注意？

影人像都唔錯!去menu>鮮艷有3 level tim.而加好多用SD
比較多用過CF ka!
如果影人D400 d膚色靚d,但聽聞會有走焦,情況(out of focus)
canon d 色比較淡d,d 相比較soft d,除塵都唔係最很重要!
最重要focus準,快,色靚,帶埋rechargerable機!要記住要
買行貨去百老會/豐記/dcfever店都可以

For selection of DSLR it is a process of selecting system rather than camera itself.

You not only need to select the camera body but also for lenses and flash, I use Canon so I can only tell you about 400D, the battery life is average as it is very small and with the dust removal system it comsume battery life you can turn it off.

For a new comer, Canon provided a picture style so that if you take picture for people you can use portrait and for landscape you can use landscape and the in camera processing programme for Canon is better than Nikon.

For Nikon, as a lot of review in a site call dcpreview Nikon need to take RAW and process it so that the photo can become sharper or you need to adjust the setting of your camera. As a new comer to DSLR, I think Canon will be more user friendly, you can simiply take Jpeg format and without much effort to have a good photos. Of course you can take RAW by 400D and process it by the bundle software DPP provided by Canon.

For D40X the bundle software is not as powerful as Canon (also commented by the same site).

Future expansion, Canon has the cheapest full frame body 5D (now ~ HK$ 15,000 but two years old) Nikon has D3 new $ 34,000.

400D can use all EF-S and EF lenses of Canon (all Canon lenses have built-in motor) all with AF, metering etc.

While D40X without built-in motor so some of the Nikon lens (without built-in motor) on D40X will not have Auto Focus.

If you go to buy other new body of Canon in future the picture style system is consistent in all Canon's new body after the 5D (two years ago) eg. the new 40D, 5D, 1D mark III and 1 Ds mark III.

You may go to local shop to play with both and see which one you like.

d80比d40x重100克, 都ok架, 300同40d就因人而異, 我見過有人托架d2x + 大炮去奶油, 我都帶過d80去奶油, ok方便

自己帶張卡去「萬成」試影下同一個畫面, 然后將這兩部機的相在電腦上比較下、你中意邊部多的, 就買邊部好了 ....

But there is few points, I cannot agree.
In my point of view, I will not spend thousands dollar for a camera body and shoot 8-bit jpeg with 14bit sensor.,
If I want easy photo, I will get a prosumerDC. And is'nt that too far spending 7xxx for a prosumer DC.

Let me stand on the Nikon side to talk with. (as above standed on Canon's)
I used to have duel system.
For Canon, I had used 350D 40D 5D 1D(s) mk2,3(n). (some owned by my friends)
For Nikon, I had used D70s, D50, D80, D2x, D200, D300 (and soon D3 will be on hand)

I found that Canon isn't really that user-friendly as above mentioned.
For example, the way to change AF focus point is not as easy as Nikon. (eg 5D vs D200)
Most Nikon DSLR have two roll, (D40/D50 has only 1). Canon give us one.
The design of the body directly affect the success rate of taking a good picture.

By the way, If I take jpeg with 5D or level above, I will just waste the time and money.
The colour and sharpness mostly had to be retouched by software, this is similar to Nikon D200/D2.

No doubt that the camera processing programme for Canon is better than Nikon in the entry level.
However this may also limit the photographer, as reasoning the high end body have only PASM.
And many prosumer DC offer the same, maybe better programme, eg R1.
They may give us better and easier image with cheaper price tag.

for D40 vs 400D, I think 400D win. Because D40 is too weak to compare with.
for D80 vs 40D, I think D80 win.

Points taken and agreed that if higher level body may use RAW and process later.

My point only is "for new comers" I will consider 400D need less process and topic is " D40X vs 400D" of course D80 will be a bit better than 400D.

This kind of comparsion will never end and no conclusive answer can be found so I suggest he goes to the show room to feel and select.

As a forum for discussion all opinions are welcome, I may not be right just want to help and express my opinions.

Agreed too, I also take my 5D with 24-105 and 12-24 to Japan last Nov, but in general people may want to take less, well of course 100g of D80 over D40X or 400D will not be huge differences.

do not confirm the picture quality that looking on the display of the camera

actually picture is totally different with the display on the monitor that you
see

you can see nikon display make picture color full but the real picture is not

you can see canon diaplay make soft and out focus but the real picture is not

so you better ask some friend to borrow nikon or canon to try first

d40x is not funtion more that 400d

but depend on what you like
