Among all models in your list 400D is the lightest one and 450D is even lighter.

I always will object people to buy D40, D40x or D60 as the limitation is too great, you will not have auto focus for some of Nikon lens without buit-in motor.

As Hanny said, if you can wait, wait for the 450D.

- 有設計方便的liveview，按一個button即可用
- 個lcd mon可以向上向下翻，方便高/低抄影相
- 又有body防手震，配咩鏡都有防震功能

Yes, Sony a350 is a good choice.
However, most people when think of DSLR will only think of Nikon and Canon.

also the mirrior sound is too bad like cuting a glass
