For my knowledge, i could only say "yes"........
I know....MD is expensive, you can buy second-hand MD.

The reliability of 2nd hand MD is worse than 2nd hand CF. The motor and mechanical parts are easy wear out. I would not recommand you buy 2nd hand MD, especially those no warrenty MDs, Just share anyway.

I used my MD with my friend's MZ3 to record movie. There's no heat problem and had recorded very very long time (didn't count) until the memory's full.

if you want to record longer time movie, you can buy a 2.5" harddisk card reader, but..........It costs about $1500 or more (include 20GB).....
I suggest you to save money to buy one more thing is better......
