As a begineer, buy 200-300 Mpixel DC would be a choice..(as I think of)

different dc has different strongest area (bust also the most weakness).... It is impossible to tell which one is the best!

However, you can make a list for what you are looking for first. For example, if you looking for compact one, with manuel functions, 4.0MP or above, then you can compare the models in the market which match your list. The result must be between Minolta F100 or F300, Nikon CP 4300, Canon S-45, Sanyo AZ-3...... Then you have to find out which one you like most (including the picture quality, design.....). Remember never buy the brand, but for what you need!! Digital Camera is different to SLR Camera, (brand isn't so important)!

其中一個差不多重要而又很容易忽略的就是顏色表現
每間廠都會按自己的特色tune出不同的色調
先看看這裡post的相片
確定自己喜歡那一個,你就不會後悔

if you want to buy the first dc, i think you can choose some easy-to-use and not-too-expensive, so Toshiba T20 or T-30 is the best choice for new dc users, it has traditional chinese menu, and touch screen like palm pilot, so you can take photo and play. also, it have many functions, can be fullfil your needs, if you really want to buy, go to some shops and try different models. i think you will buy a suitable dc for yourself! ^_^
