hi chings,

apart from the HD box problem, I am facing another problem.

My PC (HP Pavillion - bought in June 2009) - these few days, sometimes when I power it on, it will continuously beep and the monitor is black (nothing to display). Why? Then I wait for some minutes and power the PC on again, and sometimes it is OK.

Then I do the diag test, and all CPU, RAM, HDD passed the tests.

So what's wrong?

I looked at the troubleshooting guide, but nothing talked about this beep sound.

hello d2c,

I read the manual already last nite but there is nothing mentioning about this beep sound.

Yesterday I have switched on my PC since 9am till last night 2am. At 2am, the beep sound suddenly appeared and the whole PC turned off immediately.

Another case is day before yesterday. In the morning at 9am, I tried to turn on the PC. As soon as I pressed the PC power, the beep sound started and nothing I can do than to switch it off and on again. After 3 times, I can turn on the PC and load the Windows...

Don't think it is VGA coz I have never changed any settings.
