I have just bought a Minolta 7Hi this morning at Wing Shing.

The price is $7080, no extra CF card included, only a Minolta camera beg as gift. It is Hong good, with one year warrnety

I think the price now is more reasonable, even cheaper than somone's offer at the used market here.

The price of the 5050z is $5100.-.

I haven't used the camera yet, will try to night and tomorrow morning. Hope to keep in touch with you to share the experience. I owned a D60 before, but when I read the menu of 7Hi this afternoon, I feel really surprise for its function, I hope its photo quality is not bad too.

Yes, let's share more.

For the price, Man Shing is two more hundred more than Wing Shing, but as dccanon mentioned, Man Shing provides a 128M ram. Since I have already had one 256 and two 128M CF, I don't need an extra CF, so I bought at Wing Shing. However, if any new buyer who don't have enough CF, the price of Man Shing is great.

I took some shots this morning, really satisfactory with the outcome. Will share to all who wants to buy later, when I have more time to write, and to test it by more shots.

Yes, I totally agree that the 28-200 lens is great. Surely it is also one of the major reason for me to give up G3, and 5050z and to take the 7hi. And other reason is its TTL viewfinder.

I've also bought a 2nd hand Minolta 7Hi some days b4 and still studying its features. Let's share our experience and maximing the features of 7Hi.

Sorry for late reply.

For the price drop, never mind la. Someone here offered me a used 7hi at $7300(lucky that I haven't bought from him....). So, $6300 is not a bad price. I owned a D60 which I bought at May last year. I sold it last month with the grip and one more battery at only $9K.(I bought at around 18K!!).

The noise of the camera is quite obvious, even it can be easily removed by software (I only use ACDsee, and I hope I can have more time to learn photoshop afterwards). I will try to upload some nightshots that I took last night here for your reference.

The CF card gets heat after turning on the camera for a while, it is really hot, IMO.

I buy extra two set of batteries, costs around $80 each pack only. So, even the batteries consumed quite fast, it is actually not a problem becasue it costs less.

I like the 90 angle view finder quite a lot, if it can be turn left and right 90 degree will be perfect. I have one for Canon it costs me around 1.2K......;-(

Just like dccanon, I like Black colour.

So far, I like the camera very much. Light weight, good handling, cool look, manual zoom 28-200. IMO, the autofocus speed, the multi-focusing points is even better than D60.

老實講 我覺7i/7Hi 上面既 28-200mm GT鏡 無論係色散同變形 控制方面都非常非常好. 而佢既macro mode o係唔洗另外加Close Up鏡既情況下可以用200mm o係25cm既距離對到焦, 哩個係其中一個我買佢既原因.

我自己都買多左兩排 2000mAh既叉電, 而以day-trip黎計 兩排電都已經緊緊夠用.... 另外一pack可以做後備..唔錯唔錯
