yes, jsklee ching, i understand that author's 大底 is not refering to just 135 FF..
but in nowadays, the 4"x6" digital back must be so expensive that not every consumer can have one easily.....
and without the introduction of 5D, D700, A380, FF is at the price range of $60K, still not much people can afford it....
so making good reference to << 大底加慢片>> for nowadays purpose, I guess using FF but not APS-C can be another interpretation of 大底.

The statement is only true when you omit all the operation cost for 大底 camera. There are film cost and development cost. The reason for a digital camera is so expensive is that you pay one off with insignificant running cost. The initial cost for film camera is low but the running cost increase quickly proportional with the usage.

you will not take as many photos as you can if you use 大底 camera, while you could crazily press the shutter button if you are using DSLR.

When I was having firework photo taking, a c hing right next to me was using his 6"x7" or 645 I guess. I chatted with him, he expressed that he would take 3 photos only. That answer was quite impressed.
