I've heard a lot that fixed lens should be much better than zoom lens. However, when I took photos to compare both, I found 24-70 2.8 sharper than 85 1.4 and the color also seems better.

好驚支85 1.4 有problem. 唔知可以點check?

Yes, I tried them at f2.8, the toughest aperture

Nikon支85mm f1.4巳經出左好耐，技術上比起其他同spec廠鏡更古老，十年前就理應轉款。

因為Canon有支85mm f1.2鏡王，所以有人將佢同Nikon比，固有此稱號，千真萬確，支鏡唔係咁Sharp，有點鬆。

85mm 1.4 centre (2076) border (1804)
85mm 1.8 centre (2087) border (1846)

from MTF, all of them should be more or less the same at 2.8

from CA data, of course, 85/1.8 wins both 85/1.4 & 24-70/2.8

早知買1.8 平好多. I've asked a Nikon consultant for the 1.4 and he said it's SUPER!

Just to comfort myself, the 85 is for taking portrait and may be natural with good bokeh is the best.
