Has any Ching used S85mm 1.4? How does it compare with N85 1.4?
Any one used S50 1.4? And again how does it compare with N50 1.4 and 1.8? I have always been a N user but heard the two S lenses are dame good, and even better than the N.

i think the 85 1.4 is not available yet, is it?
anyway, im waiting for it as well becoz my S50 1.4 is just absolutely outstanding.
before buying the S50, i hv tried the 1.4G at Nikon CS, but the sharpness was not very satisfying. Of coz, the bokeh of 1.4G is much better than my 1.8D. But when i put the S50 on my camera, i was in shock!
the sharpness of S50 just outperform the 1.4G, i mean its MUCH BETTER!
yet, the bokeh of S50 is in another league compared to 1.4G
the downside of S50 is its product variation since some of this lens' AF is not so accurate. and the weight of it is quite annoying.
anyway, its performance simply outperform its price, go for it!

i also awaiting for the S85.4. Sigma 50. 4 are just a over-class lens. Outstanding sharpless and nice brokeh.

Thanks for your comments. I think that's why S50.4 is charging more or less the same price as a Nikon lens (1.4G). Believe S85.4 was released in the US at a price of US$899. So it will be more or less at same price as N85.4.

Another question - go for N85.4 or S85.4???

I am very interested about the S85.4 too.. But I would like to see what is gonna like about the S70-200... The spec looks awsome... 4 stage VR.. SLD.. HSM.. OS.. man.. Is almost same as LB6..

For the 85 1.4, i would wait for the user feedback before making my decision.
but if sigma is charging the same price as N85 1.4D, i would probably go for nikon becoz this lens is already a legendary lens for decades and its known as creamy machine. Also, nikon doesnt hv any AF issue while sigma....u know. so nikon will be a safe choice if u need the lens right now, otherwise, wait and see.

there is a rumor and it will be 95% correct that there will be a new N85.4, with VR and N.

but i think such a lens would cost more than $10,000...

yes definitely over $10000. My guess is it should be close to the N24 1.4. just a guess.
