Hi all,

My gf currently uses the 18-70 F3.5-4.5 on her D80.

However, I find that the aperture doesnt allow her to shoot in low light conditions as fast enough shutter speeds.

Also this is not a macro lens, which she would like to have.

I am considering changing to:

1) Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM; or
2) Sigma 18-50 F2.8 Macro HSM; or

either of earlier models of the above without the HSM.

I dont know the prices of each right now but has anyone any experience with them and give some comments?

How much difference is the HSM?

I basically would like to get a zoom lens (and preferably with macro) with F2.8 aperture but within a reasonable price for her D80.

Note: i have a Nikkor 24-70 F2.8 for my D700 which she can also use but cropping.

Why not use Nikon?

Those lens are not good in taking away the glare!
