If you don't wanna help, you could just simply ignore this thread. I would've thought that you are here to create troubles instead of helping others to solve their problems. IMHO, this sort of reply should've been deleted by admin. If your intention was to ask Kit_08hk to read the manual. Then if should've been rephrased to "There should be explanation of the Night Portrait mode stated in the manual" <-etc.

Hi RWK, thanks for yout tips. I thought my reply was simple enough to direct him to the user manual, nothing more, nothing less. Plus, he was trying to be simple - D60夜間人像setting, 如題,THX - I'm therefore trying to cope with him, what's wrong with this.

IMHO, by applying your standard, this sort of questions should be removed from the server.

I fully support the idea that we should try to assist and give good advice to those in need, this is the purpose of this platform. In here "in need" means someone who tried his/her best to search for an answer himself before generating unnecessary threads. Internet has a handful of resources and is only useful if everyone knows how to make good use of it. A lot of youngsters (maybe like yourself) has been spoilt, all they want is to take short-cuts. So instead of going through the user manual and read it with patience, they just hope posting a question here could save THEIR own time.

As a reader, I hate seeing replies like this as well, on the other hand it doesn't make sense to see the same question (especially very fundamental ones) over and over again and I do not think you would like to see same sorts of threads in the same page (?).

My INTENTION is to "educate" web-surfers and if you try to go over my replies, I do give out decent advices to decent questions.

Thanks for letting us know that your actual intention was trying to help him. I must've mis-interpreted your message. I apologise if you feel offended. However, my perception of your message is lil bit differenct, I found it kind of offensive and irritated. That's all. At the end of the day, it's just a forum discussing photography. Not a battle field. Time for me to chill out . Beer Time!!

Hi RWK, no problem at all. Forum has all sorts of people and people with different intentions. People may find me offensive regardless of my intentions anyway (not referring to you in this aspect). Afterall we love to surf the web because there are plenty of knowledge out there, provided we all make good use of it. =)

Hi GWU1 (not trying to start some fight or debates here), if the question is about how to use M-mode settings, we are talking about photography skills and not to a specific model. Since the question is about D60, portrait photography, I am assuming the question is asking how to set the camera to take portraits and the user manual would "at least" teach one how to select the appropriate dial (in fact the question is too vague and too broad). =)

1.我唔係一個專業攝影師,只係最近一兩年開始鍾意影相,10月第一次接觸DSLR,所以唔係好識DETAILS咁問我想問ge問題,只識得直接問我想問ge情況......
2.我每日返9-11,一星期一日假,放假同女朋友影下想已經好開心,剛好遇到夜間攝影問題所以上嚟問下d ching,可能係閣下所講ge"short cut",但係我暫時真係冇時間去"深究"
3.snoopybee,如果以閣下之原則或觀點去回答我呢d初學者問題,(各有各的問題,你是否明白我的難處呢??)很快就可以改為"高手討論區"
