Regardless which brand you support, it is very inspiring that you have a broad mind to realize that your supported brand (this case Canon) seems not so competitive as her rival(s). It does not mean at all that you should switch. But getting to know other brands pros and cons always allow you to look into the pros and cons of Canon more objectively- Canon is definitely not as superior over all other brands as many of her fans claimed. Why not enjoy with the gear you already have and wait to see if Canon would come up with something more exciting.

你喜歡俾多一倍價錢係你o既選擇，但唔係人人俾得起。

如果個個牌子都出一部功能相若，價錢相若o既機，咁消費者咪冇得選擇？

回望身為c記fans多年
今次真係十分失望

鏡,燈各樣配套配件經已十分完善
如此進退兩難既狀況
好在仲有幾位師兄明白

我認為 film 時代的結構完整同正常小小

我唔係唔明有d師傅今時今日係仲用緊d60/300d
但客戶需求量不斷提升 1010萬像 真係唔太夠駛喎

40D可以滿足好多人,響呢好多人當中有更多人係用來耍樂

Quite agree with the idea of kw7559 that '40D could satisfy quite a few general consumers but it is not a professinal tool'. For a professional photographer, especially in Hong Kong, if one does not have top-notch equipment, he could hardly survived. You can't simply show your customers your Canon 30D or 40D or 350D or 400D and try to convince them how good you are. This is a material world, and even when that photographer may in fact not need a 1Dsmk3 for the scenario. Customers don't care. Equipment always talks.

(in terms of price ranges).

As time goes by, differnet camera manufacturers will produce better camera as compared with thier competitors. Do you still remember it is Canon who produced the Canon 300D that was the cheapest and most versatile camera in Aug. 2003. It was the best at that time in terms of functions and money ratio. Then, after a year Nikon, Pentax , Olympus all produced their SLR models with more advanced functions. But then, Canon 350D appeared that seemed to be the better one. But soon, some others appeared and then Canon responded by 400D.... The war never ends. On the other hand, Canon 5D dominiate the market of professional field for two years because it is the only full-frame digital SLR below 20000 and Nikon has no FF camera at all. At that time, there was every reason for Nikon fans to turn to Canon, right ? But not every one does so. In Nov 2007, Nikon 3D may take its place. But then, I believe Canon will respond. The war never ends. This brings benefits to consumers. So, do not stop at a point and judge which manufacturer is better. The comercial war never ends.

A camera has no brian, it cannot do anything without the photographer behind. This discussion is rather pointless. Give a top-end camera to a non-photographer he will still shoot hopeless photos, but if you give a 5m basic point and shot to a professional photographer, he will give you very good photos!

It is the man behind the camera that counts!

科技永遠都是在不停進步的,新的相機不停的出,功能也不停的提高,但坐下來靜靜的反思一下,我們是否要不停的追新呢!?能追的上嗎!相機真的需要不停的換嗎?!個人認為,只要能拍出好的照片,不斷提升自己的拍攝技術,積累經驗,適合自己的需要,夠用就很足夠了.如果只是一味盲目得追求新機能,以我的經驗.......那是個無底洞!!!

我買40D主要是入門用... 當有基本知識+經驗及裝備, 就上Canon FF
可能1ds MarkIII 及 "?D" (都唔明點解有人叫 5D II, 好笑!!!)

點解Canon... 都係o個句Made in Japan!

你想買d300,我都明白,有錢咪買,唔使煩,我估你都是玩機,主要唔係映相,所以冇所謂,還有d300今次用回cmos,不再用ccd,所以我估它出來色調和canon差不多,一於追,當佢係靚女,追啊...............咁就有canon玩,又有nikon玩,只欠sony和pentax ........................再追,全買. ^^ 這樣的人生太好,不用選擇.
