本人欲購兩用機, 可拍相及無限有聲影片, 以上三款係本人最後之選擇(已比較其他的), 請問各專家可否提供一些比較意見給小弟,千萬個唔該...!!!!!

among these 3, Canon S1 has its edge in picture quality;
Sanyo C4 has the best movie mode

these 2 DC can zoom during movie-recording (w/ S1 x10, C4 x5.8)
S1 use 22kz/16-bit mono voice recording @ Avi.
C4 use 48kz/16-bit stereo voice recording @ MPEG4

V50 use MPEG4 too, but its zoom is disabled during movie... to be frank its a rich-featured DC... but only very few of its features are competent

If u're going to shoot movie mainly pick C4 (1GB SD for abt an hr recording);
if u're also serious in shooting photo (or learning photography) pick S1

I'm into S1 too but I do wanna see if its successor would come in 3 months time...

Mike - so far S1's movie function is sooooooo unbeatable (among all Canon DCs and also other DCs)

10x zoom w/ IS in movie mode, ie. you can use the zoom during movie shooting! its audio sampling spec. is just by far the 2nd follow C4's stereo recording, w/ 22kz/16-bit sampling mono... packed w/ 640 x 480 @ 30 fps, it eats up 1 GB in just 9 minutes, this is probably the cost of such high quality (but given you've things like digital wallet this problem is solved ^^)

I do agree that simply 3MP isn't so appealing (although 3MP makes fine 4R and some 8R photos too), its lack of RAW mode, AF-assist lamp and macro mode also disappoint me too... hence I said I do want to wait its successor come out (as if its name is S3 ^o^)...

after all, it's still one of the best DC for shooting Movie (so far only very few DC allow zooming during movie recording, S1, C4, Z3... ) and among these DC S1's performance in photo isn't really that bad (it's still a DC from Canon anyway)

Hence if you're simply shooting picture both S70 and A95 has their edges over S1, but... if you need ultra zoom, excellent movie quality... S1 is still the best one by far...
(but I do appreciate if Canon would adopt using MP4 instead of Avi format... )

So far shooting great photos is still in my highest priority when considering a new DC, yet I do enjoy shooting movie sometimes, hence S1's features would really add more fun in movie shooting...

That's quite true! But I'm not going to shoot movie all the time, hence sacrificing all manual features on a DC in exchange of a MP4 format-movie DC isn't justify to me :) But I believe if some day I really have to take a lof of movie in a single event, I'd have a digital wallet w/ me by that time ^^... hence S1's weakness in its big big movie size doesn't really affect me; but C4's lack of so many features as a more-manual DC would really bother me >.<
