I want to buy one 420ex for my G6. Seems to me that there is an auto focus assist beam on 420ex. Will the camera use the beam on the flash for focusing? Some people told me that G3 use it's own focus assist beam even 420ex is used.

I want to buy 420ex for my G6 too.

I want to buy one external flash becasue I got a lens adaptor. It blocks both the internal flash and the internal focusing beam. Therefore, I am wondering whether the auto focusing beam on 420ex would work or not.

420EX不是too expensive, 敗一支回家lor
支外閃at least做到應做的責任
(除由G6上20D/300D例外)

我用G6+550EX!!
因為長遠 for Canon DSLR,有$ 買20D,少$買300D
加 420EX/550EX POWER 妤強!!, M-MODE 妤難用(一係OVER,一係UNDER, try 4~5 才OK!!)
USE A / S mode(flash output set to AUTO),
"ISO 50" CAN USE ANYTIME....正(燈加罩)!!
550EX 2手: 1800~2000
420EX 2手: 900~1200
小心: G6+550EX 妤重!!!!

另, 如果而家買580ex 會唔會比550ex好 (指未來的兼容性)

已經買入CANON-300D,如果最後買10/20D--580EX 1ST CHOICE,
但300D用貴燈我留後路買LENS好過!!
420EX power low(打向上天花板唔夠光,但樓高神燈都冇用),no LCD 用dslr唔方便....有多餘錢玄就580EX!!(我一家四口no more $$)
