I thought there is about $1,xxx difference between a16 ($2xxx ) and EF 17-85mm IS ($3,xxx). Or I have lost touch with the latest prices.

I will go for the a16 for f/2.8 given the depth of field.

I am afraid more than 2 thousands goes for the "IS" thing. The lens exhibits poor optical quality.

..Thanks for the information, I found that the used canon "is" is about 3K+ and a16 is about
2.8K as a current new stuff..I know this is unfair to compare in price...However, is the "is" function important in performance? And did the a16 win in the Overall performance..I need a len mainly use for senic picture...
