I'd recommend you to purchase a Canon 400D instead of others. Though, it's lens is little bit expensive than the others, however, you'll find it is worth you to pay for it. As I'm also a new guy in photograhing and had purchased a 400D about one month ago, I found it's easily be understood by only reading instruction book and also I think it's a fair price in purchasing a updated DSRL.
P.S. I'm satisfied with my new 400D kit set (including ordinary kit len 18-55mm II)
