I have use Nikon CP5700 and add 52mm nextphoto adaptor using CPL and hoods, and found that always take photo in indoor was darker then not use CPL filter. (also the focus time also take longer too)

Question is , Do Digital Camera need filter??? What is the best situation to use filter and hoods?

FILTER 和 HOOD 在菲林機和數碼機上有?同樣的用途. HOOD可以防止鏡頭入光造成光班, 而FILTER就有很多種, 主要有偏光鏡及ND鏡兩種比較常用. 數碼相機所需的FILTER比菲林機較少, 因為可在PHOTOSHOP模擬出多種效果. 至於有否需要買FILTER, 就要視乎你拍甚麼題材為主. 若喜歡拍風景, 我會建議你用偏光鏡及ND鏡.

You should know that adding CPL will reduce the amount of light entering the camera, and therefore the camera will choose a longer exposure time (to compensate the reduced light). The longer the exposure time, the more likely to have hand shake and cause blur photos.

If you take indoor photos of persons, normally there is no need to add CPL. CPL mainly blocks reflections of light from glass or water, or make the sky more blue (by blocking reflections).
