i just a a new canon 580 ex II flash light try to use on my 40d. but on setting menual says, the external flash lght is not compatible with the camera, anyone know why ?

I use it in my 40D, it's fine and great. without any problem.

Actually I am using 40D + 580EX II and it is no any porblem as you said.

which manual says 580ex II can not be use on 40D? Camera or the flash manual?
