a little experience long ago.
use a Metz flash on my 20D. after some time, the camera flash no longer can pop up.
take it back to Canon. they change the whole upper cover including the shutter switch.......... $ 200 10 yrs ago in Canada.
I suspect is it different factory flash will short circuit the camera flash board!!

just guessing.
not much choice. take it back to Canon. You will not try to pry it open, right?

應該係 熱靴 金屬片彈唔起 會牙籤試試張左右兩邊金屬片挑起佢,應該會正常返
