Hi everyone, my friend just got me a 400D without len...i have no idea about which len I should get because I've never had a DSLR....My budget is $2000 at max. I would appreciate every suggestion, many thanks!

in my opinion, there are several choices
1.canon 17-85mm second hand $1800-2000
2.canon 50mm f1.8 new around $600-700+ canon 18-55 mm IS second hand $500-600
3. sigma 17-70mm second hand around $1700
...etc

for me, i will buy sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 marco
remember buy canon mount

I suggest to buy A16 (2nd hand around 2K). So you can enjoy F2.8 fun.
