C-hings, any one used Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM before? Does it worth the $$$? I heard some c-hings say once you used this lens, you cannot go back to 變焦鏡.

I have 24-70L already, should I get this one too?

This will be my next lens to buy, I have 24-70 too. I mainly consider it f/1.2 and the focal length (50mm) which make more effect on the shallow DOF, will be more fun to use than the 85/1.2L

我用緊FF機, 我覺得50.2真係一支好好既人像鏡, 比起, 85.2好, 因為對焦快, 成象高, 係我人影人象既常用RANGE, 之前用500D個時, 用開, 30.4 (死馬), 都已經覺得好正, 50.2 比我一種好好既感覺, 推介呀~

I have 24-105, and Zeiss 50 1.4. I love both, although 長插50.4.

50.4 is for my own enjoyment. Take photos slowly, think more, 慢慢構圖, focus more carefully.

Last time I went to kid's B'day party, I use 24-105 & SSWIS. Just sat at a corner, and captured many smiling faces. Prime lens cannot give that flexibility.

My next target is wide lens. My choices are: 16-35, Z 21mm or 18mm. Yes, they are completely differnet things, and the usages are different. I just wanted to say that for my own usage, I am OK with both Zoom, and Prime lens.

BTW, one of my frds just bought 50L. I and other frd tried it on both 500D & 5D2, and also compared side by side with my 50.4. 50L 對焦真的很快. USM 果然值錢！！！

When product have problem, they will post in the internet. That's why we always read the problems of a product.

Besides, a lot of problems are actually caused by the users not the product. For example, people do not read manual and keep saying that the product did not work. It is very common.

Conclusion, try finding more information, don't just rely on a few posts in particular forum.

or some of my friends suggest EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM, of course assuming having the $$$, which one should I choose?

Get 50/1.4 and use the saved amount to expand lens range coverage.

I'm using 5D & 50D, with 50L fitted, I felt good. Highly recommended.
