Don't think that Canon SX1 IS use CMOS so the noise control will be better. I will say if you like Canon, I rather suggest you buy the Canon SX10 IS. Save much more money ! About the photo quality, I think not a big difference. Instead compare the appearance of DC, you may find your choice !
