I use the scan to scan the photo by using photoshop, and the resolution is 24 bits. I find some problems:
- I can't edit this image on photoshop, why? How?
- I only can save this image to TIFF or RAW, but I want to save it to JPG, could you help me???

Photoshop only support 24 bits color, except the professional photo-retouching application can support 48 bits color photo. 48 bits means double depth of color. If you scan 48 bits and then convert to 24 bits use photoshop is much better than scan 24 bits directly. But will take very long time and memory. : )

48 bits image is 16 bits per colour channel.

Application: Photoshop CS and CS2 support 48 bits pictures.

Picture format:

TIFF supports 48 bits pictures.

Jpeg only supports 24bits pictures.
