firstly the lens is EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.

if the choice just for both 16-35 f/2.8 & 24-70 f/2.8, i will prefer 24-70 range.

zoom lens has its advantage and disadvantages, same for prime lens
all depend on your style and budget
