I 2nd 85/1.8 ... near L-quality but not near L-price
100/2 and 100/2.8 Macro are also equally good and cheap ... be forewarned that there may be replacement announced on 1/9 ...

supposedly you are using APS-C ... in which case 50/1.4 is very good if you stop down to say F2.8
17-40/4L ... no comment ... haven't used

If you upgrade to FF in the future, 17-40mm f/4 L is not quite good for portrait. The distortion is very notable at the edge. And it is kind of too close for portrait.
But you can use this lens' destortion to create "long leg" effect. Some people like it. I personally like this lens vey much for landscape.
