Many Nikon lenses are out of stock now. I want to buy a lens but have to pay a deposit and wait for the shipment to arrive.

These lenses are made in Japan. Is quality of the product affected by the earthquake? Were the lenses damaged in the earthquake? Should I wait a few months when the production quality recovers?
