rear flash
known as rear / 2nd curtain sync flash, the flash fire just before 2nd shutter curtain move. For example: when you shot a car at night, the light beam will be behind the car.

slow flash
2 meanings, for normal it means allow slow sync shutter speed when using TTL type flash metering, or related to the flash duration when you reading a flash technical specifications. I think you means slow sync shutter speed; it allows using slower flash sync shutter speed when using TTL & automatics mode (Program, Aperture, or Shutter prioity modes). There is no meaning when you are in Manual mode.

please refer to your flash gun's manual, it is not a general function at the moment; to see what your flash do in this mode. I guess most likely something about "red eye reduction" when using "slow sync. shutter speed", but please note that both camera and the subject should be stable because flash twice would result double images.

First, read the manual and try to understand which mode does what. Then decide what kind of outcome do you want? Just see the model? With some background? Lastly, google something like "flash tips" or "using flash" and see how you can achieve what you want.
