As I remember, there is no non-L EF Lens released in recent years........
Do you think that Canon will push all her lens group to L series ?

The most shocking one is the low grade design 70-300 F4 - 5.6 becomes L lens.......

For the range of 70-300 F4-5.6, Canon Sigma Tamron have released a non-IS one in $1500 only. Later on in around 2006, Canon added IS and become $4500, now Canon paint it white and add a red rubberband and become L.

There won't be any non-L new lens anymore... C discovers that no matter how high the price will be, there'll be someone who will buy the lens as long as it is L... so who will invent the non-L lens with lower profit margin?

anyway, N is even more more serious in this problem and it just put all the top technologies in each lens they produce and sell them @ sky high price...

If a N 24-120 F/4 sells over 10k, then this is really very unreasonable... but it seems that it is really going to happen...

So C users are still lucky now since we still have 24-105L @ 7xxx...

Body product cycle is short and price fall sharply. C & N shift the profit making strategy to lens. Body is cheap cheap to seduce you adopt their system.

Which means a non-L non-IS lens cost less than $1500 can be fly to $10000+ with adding white coating, "L" and IS. I believe the cost will be only around $2000 but it can be sell for over $10000, what a damm good strategy.

Do you believe the new 70-300mm "L" has great different from old 70-300mm "DO" and cost you HK12k??

New fish eye "L" also priced HK12k?
