because EOS & Nikon F mount have different "flange focal distance"

F mount: 46.5 mm
EOS mount: 44 mm
a lens with longer "flange focal distance" can mount to a camera with shorter "flange focal distance" but not the reverse, otherwise u cannot get infinity in focus [unless your adapter has glass elements to correct this]
which means
Nikon F lens can be used on EOS bodies
but EOS lens cannot be used on Nikon bodies for infinity focus
