but all my EFS lens does not have such code

Basically, all lenses made in Japan should have the code as one of the Letter means the lens is made from which Japan factory.

Old lens even not L do have code on it.

點解剩係 L 鏡先有 code 可尋, canon 做o的唔做o的. 懶係高檔.
btw , 好彩搵到我支24105 係japan 貨 08 年十月出架o者 .
