Would like to have you guys advise boz I wanna to buy a close up lens for my 450 D Kit set [with use of 18-55mm standard lens) is if good enough for me to take a close-up photo ...? if yes, what is the best lens ?? 250 D or 500..? thank you !

If have $, buy $4xxx EF 100 macro

if less $, buy $25xx Tamron 90 2.8

if little $, buy a $120 magnifying filter set

if just want to try try macro with just $50, but a manual extension tube set at Apliu street. BUT u cannot control the aperture after mounting the lens on the extension tube, u must
(1) set the camera to A mode
(2) set the required Aperture
(3) while step down the lens, dismount the lens with the camera on, the aperture will be set to the f no. u set in (2)
(4) mount the lens on the extension tube
(5) mount the extension tube to the body
(6) focus by moving back-&-forth on your target

PS the macro label on most zoom lens are FAKE, they are not really classified as macro lens

Wah ! what a details...thanks a lot ! but as I got infom from book that a close up lens should only a piece of glass, not a tube of lens, so, what is difference. thanks !

there is no lens element in the extension tube, it only elongates the distance between the lens element from the sensor
